Here's an example of a way to WOW your readers. This publication uses NXTbook Media to make the online version incredibly interactive, so that it feels like flipping through a magazine you hold in your hands.
The premise: The familiar feel of a print piece makes your online version more readable. I agree.
Cool feature: Post sticky notes on stories of interest and email the issue to a colleague.

this magazine has a better example of what digital magazines should be like.

it's far superior to NxtBook's PDF reader

I have looked into many solutions from Olive, Nxtbook,Zinio etc but the easiest one I have seen so far is the Zmag digital catalog, you have control of there system to create your own eCatalogs and can do it within minutes and it looks great.
www.zmags.com is the web address

David-I checked out zmag's site and one client sample. It does look great, but I found it very hard to read the magazine on screen. I wanted to be able to zoom in, and resolution stopped at 100%.

Thats what i thought as well. I gave them a call and the support dude told me that you can also do stepless zoom magazines. He did a demo with one of my pdfs and i have to say that the zmag solution is far superior to what im currently using and to anything ive seen anywhere else!

Thats true, we have a new increased vector zoom for publications like newspapers but most publications only require 100% so this is why this is the default. Any further questions please email me at david@zmags.com, our new website is now online at www.zmags.com with much better information.

Just so you know Vector Zoom is not standard on all new publications and gives you a 200% Zoom option. We have also just relased a fantastic new tool called Zmags Visual which is a completely new way of presenting your PDF materials online. Check it out at www.zmags.com/visual

Thanks for the info. I'm going to close comments on this topic now, as readers now know where to go to learn more about ZMags. Thanks for the discussion!
